Jack Red Cloud

At this point, I'm on my 3rd paiting in this series and I'm getting in the groove with my "Spirit of the West" Collection. Strangley, I've never really painted humans, but again I felt moved to include a powerful leader of this western history. Jack Red Cloud, son of Chief Red Cloud (1822-1909), the Sioux chief who led opposition to the Bozeman Trail through Indian lands stood out to me and represented a specialness that captivated me to want to try to capture his brave demeanor in watercolor.

This original watercolor is 18" x 24". The Saunders Waterford 140# watercolor paper is mounted on a wood panel. Finished with archival spray varnish and hand buffed with cold wax medium. Custom framed and ready to hang.
