Did you catch a glimpse of a black bear, fox, or even a moose roaming near the trails?

“Mountain Spirits” is my ongoing series of watercolors that explore the contrasts found in western mountain subjects.

By using a loose and expressive brush stroke on a large format canvas, I aim to accentuate both the power and the vulnerability of these majestic animals.

By juxtaposing areas of fine detail with areas of faint suggestion, I try to draw in the viewer to enjoy not only the intricate physical details and also the animal's untamed spirit.

I believe the result is a modern and elegant take on traditional Rocky Mountain themes that will look beautiful in any space.
